Anti-condensation heaters series are made with high quality material and reliable designs.
There are 2 fundamental applications laid under this simple yet highly important heater.
  • It is to maintain a stable temperature for an electrical enclosure where its electrical components is free from condensation by keeping the internal temperature at stable controlled ambient temperature.

  • It is to control the temperature inside the electrical enclosure a few degrees above the surrounding ambient temperature and dew point. Therefore, eliminating condensation of moisture that is trap inside the enclosure.

Band heaters are most suitable for cylindrical and flat-surface applications.  It can accommodate various types of termination designs, as well as, customized cut-outs and holes that offer flexibility to customer applications.  It uses either, mica or ceramic insulation materials depending on customers’ temperature range requirement.  Both insulation materials allow for efficient heat transfer from the heating wire to the surface of application, ensuring uniform heat distribution, which extends the life of the heater.

Ceramic band/strip heaters can go as high as 80 W/in².  Mica band heaters can reach up to 55 W/in². While, Mica Strip Heaters can go up to 35 W/in².

There are various ways of clamping or mounting the band heater, depending on the customer application or requirement.  The clamping method or mechanism affects the quality of heat transfer rate and has its advantages and disadvantages.

A cartridge heater is a cylinder shape, heavy-duty sheathed heater used by insertion into pre-determined drilled holes. When use in high watt-density applications, it’s sheathed body diameter is usually precision-machined to ensure optimum fit into the mould hole, for efficient heat- transfer.

However, cartridge heaters can also be used in various applications such as liquid immersion or air-heating. Based on intended application and design, VITAR cartridge heaters can reach up to 200 W/in².

Thermocouple

A device used in measuring temperature by a combination of dissimilar metals conjoined at a single end.  Once the portion of this conjoined metals is exposed to different temperature environment, a thermal EMF is generated.  This EMF signal is converted to temperature, in ◦C or ◦F, by a thermometer in accordance to the type of prescribed metal combination.

The thermocouple design comes with a vast number of categories and is usually related to temperature and application.  The design offers a temperature range from -200 ◦C to 1800 ◦C.  And it may vary from basic design (a pair of extension grade thermocouple cable) to a highly complexed protection tube design for special applications.
Various types of thermocouples available are types K, J, N, T, E, B, R and S.

Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD)

A device used in measuring temperature that changes its resistance value in accordance to changes in temperature.  RTDs  are known for its stability, accuracy and repeatability.
The RTD element is made from pure metals, typically platinum, nickel or copper, which  has an accurate  temperature – resistance relationship that is used as a temperature indication.

RTDs are most sought after due to its accuracy in sensing temperature changes.  It is relatively immune from electrical noise (magnetic field), and therefore  is suitable for harsh applications, such as, electrical motors, generators, and other high-voltage equipments.

Tubular heater is a cylinder shape, heavy-duty sheathed heater used in various industries.

It is compacted with a high temperature MgO powder that provides good insulation property and heat-transfer characteristics between the nichrome wire element to the heater sheathed body. Both the tubular and finned-tubular heaters provide a highly efficient, reliable and low-cost means of rapidly supplying heat directly to air, metals and various types of liquids, depending on the application. Large selection of power density can be designed based on the type of application, which ranges between 15 W/in² to maximum 123 W/in².

VITAR manufactures highly versatile and economical tubular heater elements which are used in every conceivable application and industries. They are installation-friendly and easy to maintain. They can be fabricated straight or bent into complex shapes and forms according to customer requirements. And they can be reliably applied to heat multitudes of liquids, gases and solids.

They are also used in radiant heating in open air, or can be casted into or clamped, as required.
